New Year Already?

I’m Just Average Teen Me. Happy New Year everyone! Well, not quite but you know 😀 So, I know it’s really cliché but I’ll be doing my New Year’s Resolutions today! I’ll probably do a bit of chatting and whatnot too but we’ll see.

So, onto my goals for 2016!

Keep up to my blog schedule!

As you probably know, I blog am supposed to blog every Monday, Thursday and weekend. But a lot of the time, I don’t blog on those days… Mainly because of homework or family stuff going on. But when I think about it, I managed to do 10 days of blogging without missing a single day… So in 2016, I’ll try to keep it up as best as I can

Drink More Water

I am terrible with drinking water. I don’t actually like the taste of it, which a lot of people think is really weird because “water doesn’t taste of anything” But, I can taste something when I drink water. And it is not appealing… A few weeks ago, I started to drink more water (around 2-3 bottles each day) and I still do that today. Now, I want to carry on throughout the New Year because I feel better after drinking it, my skin is less dry and I’m less thirsty (well, duh)

Be More Active

First of all, this is not because I want to seem ‘thin’ with all of the popular girls. I’m about average weight for my height anyways. It’s because, I am always, sat at my computer, blogging, watching YouTube and playing Sims all day. I’ve decided that it probably isn’t a good thing for me. In 2016, I want to get outside more often, and off my desk chair for that matter, but I need to get more fresh air, and actually move. I’ve been on a few walks with our dog in the last few days, I just want to keep it up!

Meet up With Bob More

For those of you that don’t know, Bob is my best friend, but we go to different schools *cry*. This year, I saw him twice. Twice. I need to see my best friend more than twice a year! In 2016, I want to meet up more often! That could help with my last one too!

Forgive and Forget

A lot of you will know, my friend Regina, said some quite nasty things about me behind my back, which ended up with me having some sort of panic attack… Read  my Help, Help #2 and What Exactly Happened Last Night posts (the last two are probably more useful) if you want to know about that, because I’d rather not explain it all. But anyways, in the last few weeks, it’s become quite clear that she’s trying to make it up to me. And I want to forget what happened. As difficult as it might be, to forget how I felt, I want to try as hard as I can, to put the past in the past.

Learn to Lucid Dream!

Since my mum bought me a book on this, I really, really, want to be able to master it. Hopefully, 2016 will be when that happens!

That’s my New year’s resolutions! What are yours? Let me know! As for what I’m up to tonight, I think I’m having a family buffet/party thing and then lurking around until midnight… Not so eventful but I don’t mind. And Dave is coming today (check the codenames tab) I think…

Thanks SO much for reading. Make sure to like and follow if you enjoy my blog and leave any thoughts or suggestions in the comments below.

Goodbye Blogmas! :(

I’m Just Average Teen Me. So, blogmas is over… Thank you SO much for all being so supportive of the idea! I had an amazing time writing all the Christmassy posts (even though it did sometimes get difficult every day!) I’m really surprised that I managed to post one everyday! I didn’t miss a single day! I hope you all enjoyed reading them as much as I did writing them! ❤ I guess now we’re back to normal then… So, weekend, Mondays and Thursdays. I didn’t actually do the weekend post (I’m really sorry – with Christmas being recent and all, I didn’t really have the time) but I’ll be doing Monday and Thursday for sure!

And maybe one tomorrow?

Anyways, onto today’s actual post! So, it’s after Christmas, which means I’ve opened all of my presents. And I thought it would be fun and interesting for us to talk about what presents we got!

First of all, I don’t think any of my presents are ridiculously expensive, I didn’t get anything crazy or extravagant! So… yeah!

Red’s Untold Tale by Wendy Toliver

This is a book, based on the TV show Once Upon A Time. But it didn’t really happen in the TV episodes, I think. It’s about Red Riding hood and her ‘Untold Tale’. Duh, clearly what am I on about 😀 I’m useless at explaining this… I’ll just copy the back (it’s quite long…)

The hooded cloak was made of rich red fabric, a lovely brocade on the outside and lined in lush velvet. I stood and tried it on, loving how the hood draped over my braids and the cape flowed so regally to the ground.

It’s Wolfstime, the foreboding period around each full moon when villagers must protect their homes and families against the giant, ferocious wolves that roam the forest. On the day Red turned thirteen, Granny gave her a special red cloak upon which a spell had been cast to protect Red from the wolves.

Red is now sixteen and is desperately trying to fit in among her peers, save Granny’s failing bakery business, and, of course, protect herself from wolves. Her crush on Peter and her determination not to let the mean girls sabotage her blossoming romance cause Red to make some questionable choices.

Will these choices let the wolves in? Will Red pick the right battle? Will her skills be strong enough to keep her alive?

Actually, that was a lot longer than I thought it was 😀 Sorry about that!

Brunette Ambition by Lea Michele

As some of you may know, I did ask for this in my Christmas list. I finished reading it yesterday. And the whole thing was amazing ❤ I did actually give a description of this book in my Christmas List post so you can go on over there if you want to read it!

Exploring the World of Lucid Dreaming by Stephen LaBerge, Ph.D. & Howard Rheingold

Okay, so my mum knows that I would love to be able to lucid dream so she bought me this. Crossed fingers it’ll help me!

Once Upon A Time Seasons 1-4

They didn’t come all together actually… It was season 1+2 together and season 3 and 4 separate boxes. Actually, my Grandma bought me season 3, but all of the writing is in French! YAY! Typical Grandma 😀 The actual thing will play in English though, so I’ll be fine

DVD Player

This is only because the Once Upon a Time disks won’t play on my Tv’s disk drive thing… They’re American so it won’t work properly but the DVD player will make it work

Once Upon A Time Hoodie

As I’m writing this, I’m wearing this hoodie. It’s black with gold writing saying Once Upon A Time. It’s SO cosy and warm ❤

Swarovski Crystal Earrings

These are SO pretty! There are loads of different colours, so I’ll tell you what they all are. Dark purple, dark blue, light blue, light pink, orange, green and white/clear. SO pretty!

Glee Season 6

Now, my glee box set collection is complete! 😀

Door Stop

Finally! My door won’t shut when I don’t want it to! YAY It’s green and says STOP

That’s pretty much everything! What did you get for Christmas? I’d love to hear in the comments!

Thank you SO much for reading! Make sure to like and follow if you like my blog and leave any thoughts or suggestions in the comments!

Blogmas Day 10!

I’m Just Average Teen Me. Welcome to Blogmas day 10!

It’s Christmas Eve! Tomorrow is Christmas! 😀 For today’s post, I’ll be doing a Christmas Tag! I think I might have said in my Christmas Book tag, that I’d be doing another tag (I’ve said tag too much now) either Christmas Eve, or Christmas Day. Well, I decided to do it today!

Onto the questions!

What is your favourite Christmas film?

Elf elf elf elf! ❤ I love it soooo much! Actually, I watched ‘The Holiday’ for the first time (don’t judge) the other day and that was really good! But I think Elf still holds the title 😀

Have you ever had a White Christmas?

Ah well, that’s kind of complicated? I had snow on the ground one Christmas from the day before… But I’ve never had actually snow falling from the sky on Christmas… So I guess I’ve had half a White Christmas?

Where do you usually spend your holiday?

At home, but in the evening we go to my Grandparents’ house along with all of the cousins

What is your favorite Christmas song?

This year, I’d say Santa Clause Is Coming To Town but the Glee cover! I love it! ❤

Do you open any presents on Christmas Eve?

Nope! We save it all until Christmas Morning! Well, actually, sometimes my mum gives us little gifts on Christmas Eve, but not an actual present. Like, she gave me some nail polishes because I’ve been wanting to paint my nails. It didn’t end well, I scrubbed it all off (most of it) and I’m hoping to buy some press-on nails instead… I’m hopeless 😀

Can you name all of Santa’s reindeer?

Actually, I can! Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Donner, Blitzen and Rudolph! That’s them all right?

What holiday traditions are you looking forward to most this year?

I guess just opening the presents? And having homemade Egg McMuffins for breakfast ❤

Is your Christmas tree real or fake?

Fake, yeah we’re boring 😀

What is your all-time favorite holiday food/sweet treat?

I love cookies! But on Boxing Day morning, my dad makes homemade Cinnamon Rolls and they are amazing ❤

Be honest: do you like giving gifts or receiving gifts better?

Actually I don’t know… Giving gifts is really awkward because you’re like OH GOD WHAT IF THEY DON’T LIKE IT? And receiving gifts is also awkward because you’re like OH GOD WHAT IF I DON’T LIKE IT? So, I guess they’re both equal 😀

What is the best Christmas gift you’ve ever received?

Well, when I was in year 5 (about 10) I got an iPod touch that I still love and use to this day ❤

What would be your dream place to visit for the holiday season?

I’m sure loads of you know this already, but NEW YORK ❤ I would LOVE to see it in snow! It’s just magical ❤

Are you a pro-present wrapper, or do you fail miserably?

I would consider myself a pro 😀 My mum usually dumps all the presents on me (ones to my cousins etc) because she isn’t a pro like me 😉

Most memorable Holiday moment?

I would say, just coming down the stairs on Christmas Morning and seeing all the presents! It’s amazing!

What made you realize the truth about Santa?

Well, when I got old enough (about 9 or 10) my mum just kind of told me… I wasn’t very bothered or anything. 😀

Do you make New Years resolutions? Do you stick to them?

Usually, I don’t… But this year I plan on doing and sticking to them as best as I can! I’ll probably do a post on that when New Year comes!

What makes the holidays special for you?

I guess it’s just so relaxing, and exciting and so different to any other time of the year!

Blogmas Day 9!

I’m Just Average Teen Me. Welcome to Blogmas day 9!

Now, it’s definitely acceptable to jump up and down and squeal with excitement! The day after tomorrow is Christmas people! We’re really close now!

Today’s Blogmas post will be another tutorial sort of thing… It’s more along the lines of a recipe! I’ll be sharing an amazing recipe for some Christmas Cookies that I love around Christmas!

So, for these cookies, you’ll need:

150g (5 oz) self-raising flour

150g (5 oz) plain flour

2 teaspoons ground cinnamon (or nutmeg/ginger etc)

125g (4.5 oz) butter

100g (3.75 oz) sugar

1 beaten egg

And just to let you know, this recipe is supposed to make 48 cookies, but depending on the size you make yours, you could have more or less!

Onto the method!

  1. Set your oven to 160 degrees C or Gas mark 3
  2. Sift flour and cinnamon/nutmeg/ginger into a big bowl
  3. In another bowl, mix your butter and sugar until it doesn’t have any clumps left (and is smooth)
  4. Add an egg and mix it nicely
  5. Stir in the mixture from the other bowl until it makes a dough
  6. Put it onto a lightly floured (so you don’t stick it down) and knead (punch it) until it’s smooth
  7. Use a rolling pin to roll it to about half a centimetre thick
  8. Use shape cutters or knives to cut the dough into shapes (snowmen and Christmas trees would be a great option!) and place them onto a greased oven tray – make sure it’s greased well so your cookies don’t get stuck!
  9. Bake in your preheated oven for 10 to 15 minutes. or until they look lightly golden.
  10. Let them cool and enjoy!

That’s the recipe! I hope some of you try it and see how tasty they are! If you want, you could use icing to decorate them! Let me know if you use this recipe!

Blogmas Day 8!

I’m Just Average Teen Me. Welcome to Blogmas day 8!

It’s Christmas Eve Eve Eve! We’re almost there guys! For today’s Blogmas post, I’ll be showing you a little DIY (not sure if you can call it DIY but I will)

What am I teaching you to DIY? Well, it’s nail stuff. I figured, since most of my readers are girls, we’d all benefit from a nail hack? Right? Although, I will admit, that I am not a nail art fan! However, I do actually plan on using this either Christmas Eve or Christmas! That is, if I ever manage to find any nail polish!

So… Let’s get on with it!

For the Christmas Nail DIY, I’ll be showing you how to get these nails but Christmassy.

I was thinking they would look really festive if you used red and white? Maybe a splash of green?

So, to do this, you’ll need:

More than one colour of nail polish

Clear nail polish would be good (but I don’t actually have any soo…. We’ll see how that turns out!)

A toothpick or something with a small, poky end like a sharp pencil??

Masking tape (or medical tape whichever you might have! Or normal tape but that probably won’t work as well!)

Room temperature water (Not cold or warm! Just in the middle! So that when you put your finger in it doesn’t feel cold or warm)

And that should be it! So, onto how you do it!

Disclaimer: I am no nail expert! Actually, I’m probably the opposite! I haven’t used nail polish in forever 😀

Okay so first of all, you’re going to get a cup or bowl (if you’re using a cup, use quite a big one with a wide rim so you have room) of your room temperature water. Have that somewhere you don’t mind spillages or anything! Just in case 😉

Then, drop some of your nail polish (one colour) into the water. If the water is the right temperature then it should sit on the top – not sink… If it sinks then it’s too cold I think..

After you have done the first colour, you’re going to want to put in your other colour! Drop it right in the middle of your first one! It should stay on the top too!

Then, do the same with another colour (or the colour that you used first) and keep going until you have quite a bit of nail polish in there!

At this point, the nail polish might be sort of drying/ going like a plastic bag. Then you use your toothpick, to drag the polish around, and make swirly patterns! Use your imagination!

When you’re happy with your swirly patterns, you should do a base coat to your nails. It’s a good idea to use something like white!

Then when the base coat is dry, it’s time to use your tape. Stick it around your finger, but leaving your nail exposed. This is so that you don’t get nail polish all over your skin.

Slowly, dip your finger, nail first (flat) into the nail polish. Hold it there for a couple seconds, and then try to take it out without ruining it all. Sometimes twisting it might help. Or using your toothpick to get rid of excess polish.

Then, take off your tape and clean around your nails. Voila! You have pretty nails! I hope 😀

You just need to do that on them all! I know, it’s a lot of effort, but it looks really pretty and like you spent loads of time doing it! When actually, you might have, but quicker than you could have done!

To finish, go over them in a clear nail polish so they don’t peel of as easily!

They look perfect for Christmas! And Candy Cane-ish! So, what do you think? I’d love to know if any of you try this out! Let me know!

Blogmas Day 7!

I’m Just Average Teen Me. Welcome to Blogmas Day 7!

AH I’m so excited! 😀 How excited are you getting?? Anyways, for today’s blogmas post, I’ll be doing the ‘Tis the Season Book Tag’! I can’t wait to try this one out! 😀 As some of you may know, I love doing tags! I really don’t do enough of them! I’ll probably do one either Christmas Eve or Christmas Day! So you’ve got that to look forward too as well!

First of all, I was tagged by the lovely Shivani for this one! Thanks for that! ❤

Let’s get into the questions!

Do you have a favourite winter read?

Okay, already I’m useless in this tag 😦 😀 I don’t really have any specifically wintery books… But I guess the first Girl Online takes place around Christmas and really makes me want to go to New York when it’s snowing… SO yeah! Girl Online!

Find a book with blue on the cover!

cat in da hat

Find a book you’d use as the star on a Christmas Tree!

The Fault in Our Stars! Ironic, right? 😀

Pick one fictional place that would be perfect for a winter vacation!

This is hard! Can I choose Neverland? That would be amazing! ❤

Pick one fictional character you’d take with you on your winter vacation!

Sherlock! That’d be interesting, right? It definitely wouldn’t be boring!

Name one book on your wishlist this year!

Lea Michele, Brunette Ambition

Favourite Holiday drink, treat and movie?

Hot Chocolate from Starbucks ❤

Lindt Lindors ❤

Elf 😀

A Hufflepuff’s Thoughts

My Irrelevant Thoughts

*I know, two similar names 😀 *

That’s everyone! I hope you like posts like this! I really enjoy writing them! 😀 ❤

Blogmas Day 6

I’m Just Average Teen Me. Welcome to Blogmas day 6!

Can you believe we’re already that close? December has flown by! Usually it drags!

Anyways, for today’s Blogmas post, I’ll be sharing some of my favourite Christmas songs, so I guess you could call it my Christmas Playlist!

Let’s get on with it!

*Disclaimer. There’ll be quite a few glee songs, so hopefully you aren’t too bothered about that 😀 *

Santa Baby – Taylor Swift

Personally, I love Taylor Swift, and having Christmas music to listen to (alongside Sparks Fly and Better than Revenge which I have been listening to on repeat for the last couple weeks) is amazing! She’s got such a perfect voice for this song. The country-sort-of version that she does is really good too!

Santa Baby- Santana Lopez (Glee)

On the note of Santa Baby, Santana Lopez, from glee, covered this song too! Her real name is Naya Rivera just in case anyone was wondering. This version of the song is very Santana. And I love it! Actually, it was a deleted scene but you can still listen to it on YouTube!

Do they Know it’s Christmas? – Bandaid

This one, although slightly depressing to think that there are people that don’t know that it’s Christmas time but it’s usually sang for helping that, if that makes any sense? It’s kind of proving that we do actually care about those in need and we don’t just think about ourselves, which makes it much less depressing and more positive! And it’s a great song to listen to!

Fairytale of New York

First of all, this is literally one of my all time favourite Christmas songs! 😀 It’s just amazing, right? It has slow parts, and the quick upbeat parts! And it’s quite funny! Perfect Christmas song!

Baby it’s Cold Outside – Blaine Anderson and Kurt Hummel (Glee)

Blaine and Kurt being one of the TV show’s major OTPs, it’s really difficult not to just love this! Their actual names are Darren Criss and Chris Colfer. This song is amazing, and sounds amazing with Klaine (their ship name) covering it ❤ It’s one of them really relaxing sounding songs! Do you know what I mean?

Have yourself a Merry Little Christmas – Judy Garland

I can’t listen to this song without being reminded of Nativity 😀 (A film that now that I think about it, really should have been in my top 10 Christmas Films post….) purely because it plays at one point in the background! Brains are weird, right?

White Christmas – Bing Crosby

Seriously, this song never gets old, no matter how many times you listen to it! It never fails to send those Christmas vibes running through your veins making you go crazy with excitement! I really hope we get a White Christmas one year… Maybe this year? Who knows?

Christmas Don’t be Late – Alvin and the Chipmunks

I will admit sometimes, the high pitched squeaky voices of the chipmunks can sometimes get a little annoying, but in this song it fits just right! It makes you feel even more excited for Christmas! ❤

Santa Claus is Coming to Town – Noah Puckerman and Finn Hudson (Glee)

This one, with a slightly different song to normal, is one of my favourites this year! I’ve already listened to it dozens of times! Puck and Finn get it perfect! Their real names are Mark Salling and Cory Monteith. Darren Criss also has a teeny tiny harmonica solo which is very convincing that it’s actually him 😉

That’s everything that I could think of! I’m sure there are loads more that you’ve been loving too! Let me know in the comments!

Thank you SO much for reading! Make sure to like and follow if you like my blog and leave any thoughts or suggestions in the comments!

Blogmas Day 4!

I’m Just Average Teen Me. Welcome to Blogmas day 4!

For today’s Blogmas post, I’ll be making a ‘Christmas Holiday Bucket List’. You might be wondering what that actually means, so I’ll tell you!

Basically, I had my last day of school in 2015 today, so I need some things to do over the 2 weeks that I’ll be off. So, I thought that I’d make a list of some of the things I have to do!

Let’s start!

Tidy my room

I’m sure this was probably obvious for any teenager! I’m not particularly messy, or the type to have a messy room. It’s just my desk… SO, over the holidays (preferably before Christmas) I need to clear off my desk! Presto!

Finish my Advent Calendar!

This one’s quite obvious too. Some of you might have one too, but usually, I’ll forget to have a few squares, and eat loads on one day! Don’t get me wrong, eating loads of chocolate isn’t a bad thing, it’s just I want this to finally be the year that I eat my Advent Calendar properly! I don’t think I ever have before! But so far, I haven’t missed any days!

Not to eat all of my chocolate!

Okay, so from people at school, I have way too much chocolate… And I’m gonna have to restrain myself from eating it all… Because if I ate ALL of that, I think I might get sick and die 😀 I feel like I need one of those boxes that lock for a certain amount of time!

Use my handwarmers!

I have handwarmers from last year, but I didn’t use them very much… THIS YEAR, however, I plan to use them more! But I need to boil them first… They’re on of the liquid ish ones that you have to snap the metal and it gets really hot ❤

Drink a White Chocolate Hot Chocolate from Costa

Earlier on today, one of my friends was talking to me about the Costa White Hot chocolate and it sounded SOO nice! So I’ve made it something that I have to do during the holidays! I might have to bring one of my friends out to Costa with me!

Find some new bloggers!

This holidays, I really want to find some new bloggers that I can read posts from! Obviously, I will keep reading people that I’m already reading, but it’d be nice to get to know some new people in the blogsphere!

That’s everything I can think of right now!

What are your plans for the holidays?

Thank you SO much for reading! Make sure to like and follow if you like my blog and leave any thoughts or suggestions in the comments!
