I’m Just Average Teen Me. Welcome to Blogmas Day 4!

There’s only a week to go! Almost there! Christmas is never complete without Christmas movies, so let’s get into some of my favourites!

As overplayed as this film may be, it never fails to liven up the Christmas mood. Not to mention, the entire time I imagine Sherlock walking in to see John (Mr Maddens) dancing with a bunch of 7 year olds. 😀

Without a doubt, Elf is my all-time favourite Christmas movie, and if anything can ever overtake it… let’s just say I’d be very impressed! Will Ferrel is absolutely hilarious, and paired with Zooey Deschanel is just perfect!

The Holiday

I watched this for the first time last year, and it’s safe to say that it’s easily my second favourite Christmas movie. I’m an absolute sucker for romance, and Christmas is by far my favourite season. Put them together, and that’s a pretty good movie if you ask me! 😀

Home Alone

Classic. I don’t think there’s been a single year that my family hasn’t all sat together to watch Home Alone. Kevin is adorable, and the whole plot is so cleverly planned out. Not to mention, the wincing and cringing throughout the whole thing! 😀

Love Actually

I haven’t ever seen this before, but since I plan on watching it in the next few days, so I thought I’d let you know that it’s on my Christmas Movie List this year. I’ll update once I’ve watched it, and say what I thought via my twitter! It seems to be about romance, but that’s really all I know so far.

The Santa Clause

Being one of my dad’s favourite Christmas movies, we watch this one without fail almost every year. Charlie is so freaking cute, and the plot is so entertaining!

If you haven’t seen any of those films, I really would recommend checking them out, and if there’s any of your favourites that I missed, make sure to let me know in the comments! 😀

Happy Blogmas!

Attempting To Review Something Beauty

I’m Just Average Teen Me. As you’ll more than likely already know, I’m not your typical beauty blogger, although I do sometimes keep you updated on new purchases and whatnot. Today, though, I am trying to venture into the world of reviewing a beauty product! To be specific, the Bourjois Radiance Reveal Concealer.

Before we get into the post, I’ve done a good bit of researching on what to include in here, but let me know if I miss anything or if you have any questions!

First off: Packaging. This one is by far my favourite packaging for concealer I’ve ever had! Instead of the standard cylinder tube with a black lid, this one is more of a cuboid shape, with a shiny silver lid and frosty plastic. It looks very pretty (not to mention durable) so if you’re a fan of photography, you could definitely take some nice photos of it! It’d be nice if you could see it, wouldn’t it…?

Here we go! Pretty, isn’t it?

So, application wise, there are good things, and things that I would rather have differently. Let’s start with the good, shall we? It applies so smoothly, and doesn’t make the skin flake at all, which I’ve had quite a problem with around my nose beforehand. It’s definitely hydrating, as it says on the bottle/tube – I’m not sure what to call it. HOWEVER (of course there’s a however), the coverage isn’t fantastic. If you, like myself, sometimes get rather red blemishes, you might want a backup concealer because the coverage isn’t quite full. Thankfully, I have some of my Collection Lasting Perfection concealer left, so when the Himalayas made a sudden appearance on my forehead, I wasn’t left to face the world like that. 😀

For anyone looking for a concealer to last while you’re in school, this is definitely a great idea. By the time I’m home, it’s still all there, unless it’s been super hot, and my face has been sweating. And that’s without a powder; let’s be real, nobody wants to have to buy powder. It’ll make me sneeze.

As far as looks go, it’s definitely pretty good (excuse my very non-beauty terminology). It blends into the skin very easily, and the colour was a great match. For all my pale girls, this one works! If your school has a strict uniform and makeup policy (mine does 😦 ), this one will be your best friend! It doesn’t cake at all, so it looks super natural, and teachers probably won’t notice. 😉

I bought mine from Superdrug, for £7.99, which is pretty good, considering that the bottle has a lot more than my typical concealers would have. It works out to about £10.20 per ml.

Hopefully, you’ve enjoyed this new little adventure into the realm of beauty blogging that I’ve took you on today… Let me know what you think, and if you have any questions!

Dr. Oetker Mug Cake – Review

I’m Just Average Teen Me. I’ve never tried to do a review post, but I thought I would spice up the contents of my blog and give it a go! So, today I will be reviewing the Dr Oetker Mug Cake. Earlier on in the day, I tried the “Rich Chocolate” one, so that’s what I will be focusing on in this post. I have also tried the Lemon one, but that was a couple months ago so it isn’t as fresh in my memory.

First of all, if you want something super quick, and super easy to make, then this is perfect in that aspect. All you have to do is grab a cup, shake in the powder, splash in some milk and throw it in the microwave. Please don’t actually throw it; that won’t end well, I assure you.

I will admit, I actually thought it tasted nicer as a liquid… But it might be too nice on your stomach if you don’t warm it up first.

So, if you use a huge cup, then you should be fine, but if you have a smaller one, then you might want to put some kitchen roll or something under the cup just in case of a spillage. My cup, alternatively, was huge. So when I opened the microwave and saw that only half had filled up, I was a tad disappointed.

Back to “super quick”. If your mouth is sensitive to heat, and you burn yourself quite easily, I would say that it isn’t quite as super quick. Although it did cool down kind of quickly? Personally, I am fine with hot stuff, probably because I have porridge on school mornings, and it probably isn’t cooled down enough by the time I shovel it into my mouth… So in that aspect, I’m safe. But take caution if you’re heat sensitive.

The actual taste of the cake was quite tasty, but not as good as the recipe that I posted earlier on in the year. You an read that here. The texture (agh I feel like a food critic) was very nice, it was quite light and airy so it didn’t stuff you until you literally exploded from food. So yeah.

At the end, though, I had quite a bit of powder left in the bottom, but that could just be because I suck at stirring. Anyways, if you end up with powder left, do not eat it. It’s gross and, well – powdery.

Otherwise it was very nice and I enjoyed it very much. ❤

Thank you SO much for reading. Make sure to like and follow if you  like my blog and leave any thoughts or suggestions in the comments! Let me know if you liked this post! It’s different to normal, and I could do more if you like it!
