10 FEEL-GOOD MOVIES

Hello there, again! For today’s post, I thought I’d share some of my favourite feel-good movies (duh, you read the title… or did you?). Let’s get into it, since this post will probably end up quite long!

Letters to Juliet

ltj

This one is a recent favourite of mine, since I only actually watched it a couple weeks ago. Nonetheless, I love it so much, and I’ll definitely be rewatching in the future! This film follows the journey of Sophie (Amanda Seyfried) around Rome on a pre-honeymoon with her busy fiance. It explores how love has no age, and how it’s never too late to find your soulmate – trust me, it’s adorable.

Mean Girls

MG_C1143-21.JPG

“I’m sorry that people are so jealous of me… but I can’t help it that I’m popular.” Mean Girls has a place in the hearts of so many girls and women (men and boys, too!) across the world, and for all the right reasons! It tells the story of how a, previously home-schooled, Cady Heron (Lindsay Lohan) infiltrates the popular group of girls in her new high school, known as The Plastics.  It’s jam packed with witty one-liners, romance and everything you’d want in a chick flick!

Sleepless in Seattle

Obit-Nora Ephron-Appreciation

If you’re any sort of romance film fanatic, you’ll more than likely love this, and if you haven’t already seen it, you definitely should get around to it! Widower, Sam Baldwin (Tom Hanks) and his son Jonah move to Seattle, where Jonah calls into a radio talk show, asking to help find his dad a new wife. Little does he know, engaged journalist Annie Reed (Meg Ryan) is listening on the other end.

American Pie

ap

Much like Mean Girls (although a lot more scandalous), American Pie is a hilarious comedy movie, and a must watch for anyone older than 15! Four high school boys make a promise to each other, that they will lose their virginity by the night of prom. Along the way, there’s a bunch of awkward encounters, painfully cringey talks with parents and the funniest characters! It’s rated an 18, so if you’re younger than 14, I’d steer clear of this one for a few years!

Big

big

Another classic, starring Tom Hanks as 30-year-old Josh Baskin, after being transformed into an adult from being 12. It shows Josh as he meets all the experiences of adult life, from getting a job (even if he’s a toy tester) to romantic interests. A fun film for all the family to enjoy!

Tangled

tangled

Who doesn’t love a good Disney movie? Tangled is easily one of my favourites, and I’ve watched it countless times. If you really don’t know (I’m assuming most people do?), Tangled is the animated story of Rapunzel, a Princess stolen from her parents by Gothel, an ancient woman who uses the magical powers of Rapunzel’s hair to keep her young forever. While locked in a tower, Rapunzel meets thief Flynn Rider, who takes her on an adventure to see the lanterns released on her birthday (the same as the “Lost Princess“). The love story of Flynn and Rapunzel is easily my favourite from any Disney movie!

Mamma Mia

mm

Newly Engaged Sophie (Amanda Seyfried) feels that she needs to have her father with her while she marries her fiance, Sky (Dominic Cooper). The only problem is: there are three possible fathers. What’s the only reasonable thing to do? Invite all three of course! Donna (Meryl Streep), hasn’t seen any of the men since her younger years, so an encounter with them right before her daughter’s wedding is a recipe for near-disaster! If you’re a fan of musicals, this one is definitely for you!

The Internship

ti

Salesmen, Billy (Vince Vaughn) and Nick (Owen Wilson) are struggling, so they apply for internships at Google, where they form an alliance with the younger “noogles” and go face to face with other teams in a range of challenges. It’s a must-see comedy if you ask me, although maybe not for anyone younger than 13, as the noogles take a trip to a pretty hectic party!

Why Him?

wh.jpg

Another hilarious comedy movie, about the parents of Stephanie (Zoe Deutch) who travel to California to meet her and her tech savvy (but extremely troublesome) boyfriend Laird (James Franco). Stephanie’s father, Ned, immediately doesn’t approve of her choice in men, despite staying in his luxury home for the holidays. I watched this one a while ago, soon after it was released in cinemas, and enjoyed every moment!

Guardians Of The Galaxy

gotg.jpg

Peter Quill, also known as Star Lord (Chris Pratt) forms a group with unlikely ‘friends’: Rocket, Gamora, Groot and Drax after stealing an orb, wanted by the villain – Ronan. The five discover the power of the orb, and embark on a mission to save the universe, ultimately naming themselves the Guardians of the Galaxy. It’s easily my favourite Marvel film, and I’ve watched it so many times!

And those are some of my favourite movies that I’ll drift to if I’m bored, or feel like I need a little something to cheer me up! What about you? What are some of your favourites?

MONTHLY LOOK-AHEAD – AUGUST 2017

Hello blogosphere! I’m back again, and it’s currently 11:09PM. Why am I writing a post at this time? I’m not sure, especially since I’m surviving off very little sleep after a huge TV marathon last night until 4:30AM…. I should be sleeping, but I’ve ended up here.

So what has August got in store for us? Probably nothing very eventful, since I’m not in school until September, but there’ll definitely be some littler things to look forward to!

Back to Blogging

It’s no secret that my blog has been lacking posts in the last few months, and I’ve been even more useless at reading and commenting on other bloggers’ posts. With school out of the way, I’ll have a lot more free time, and a lot less homework (although teachers had really been slacking in that department anyway this year, thankfully). I’m planning on getting way more posts out than usual!

Blolidays

If you were here last year, and I still haven’t managed to scare you away, first, thanks for staying, but more importantly, you might remember a series of posts I did last summer, called Blolidays. It’s a hybrid word of blog and holidays if you hadn’t already noticed, and although I don’t really go on holiday (thanks mother for the huge family), I write a post once a week themed on the holidays. It might be a summer playlist, my favourite clothes, a haul (that one’s coming for sure!) or even just a rant about the things I love in summer.

Brunch Outings

Like last year, my friends and I have planned to meet up a bunch of times in the holidays, and I’m hoping we actually do! Last year, it got to the last weekend of the holidays and we all got hit with “oh sugar we haven’t been out once” so ended up going out then. Regina wants to go to some little cafes for brunch a few times, and I’m a sucker for all things breakfast-y, especially smoothies!

Everything Everything

For those of you that haven’t already gathered, I’m an absolute hopeless romantic, despite never having been in a relationship or anywhere close to one – ever. It’s heartbreaking, I know, but I survive purely off romance movies: the Notebook being one of my all time favourites (even though it makes me ugly-cry so bad). This month – I think – Everything Everything comes out in the UK Cinemas, and I’m so so excited to watch it.

Teen Wolf Season 6B

As I mentioned at the beginning of this post, I was on a huge TV marathon. Now’s the time where I tell you it was Teen Wolf. I’d planned to rewatch the entire series in time for the new episode that I could watch on Monday (thank you, timezones), but by Sunday morning I was really pushing whether I’d make it in time or not. To make sure I did, I stayed up until 4:30AM. From Wednesday to Monday morning, I’d watched ninety-one episodes of Teen Wolf, which worked out to about two and a half days straight. It’s easily the biggest binge I’ve ever been on in such a short space of time, but I made it, and the new episode WAS SO EXCITING I CAN’T WAIT TO WATCH THE REST OF THE SEASON!!!

Back to School Shopping

As usual, late August comes with restocking on stationery, school uniform, shoes, and the lot. Some people find it really tedious, and a bit depressing, but since me and my friends are all dorks, it’s so exciting, and we set aside a day to go out to a bunch of stationery shops in town. There’s something so refreshing about starting a new year with a whole set of new equipment. Who knows, maybe I’ll even keep my ruler this year? I’ve never managed to keep a ruler – ever; it always seems to go missing, or snap and I end up using those triangle things in maths sets that I still don’t know what they’re used for…. If anyone knows, enlighten me!!

And that’s what’s ahead in the next month! Hopefully, we’ll have some nice weather, and be able to get some outside time! If you’re in the UK, you’ll know our summers usually last all of a three day heatwave and then we’re onto autumn. Let’s see!

See you next time 🙂

2 YEAR BLOGIVERSARY

HELLO HELLO HELLO

POP THE CHAMPAGNE AND BLOW UP THE BALLOONS – IT’S MY BLOGIVERSARY.

Maybe without the champagne, though, since I’m 15. . 🙂

2 years ago today, I did a post called “Hello World“, under the name Just Average Teen Me. I know, the name is hella corny, and still to this day makes me want to curl up into a ball and be buried in a hole. Good thing I changed it then, I guess?

Anyways, after making my blog, at the age of 13, I thought it’d be a place where I had posts to write constantly, and ideas flowing heavier than Niagara Falls. If you’ve been here recently (and if any of you are actually left?) you’ll know I’m very very unorganised here… I’m crap at remembering to post, let alone finding the ideas, to put it frankly.

The first year or so, I had a tight schedule of when to post and when not to post, and sometimes that meant being up at 10:30pm (I was 13 okay that was late for a school-night) writing the most rushed and un-related-to-my-life posts I’ve ever seen. Hopefully, you’ll agree I’m past that now, and I try to blog about things that actually hold some shape or form of meaning to what’s going on with me? By the start of 2017, I’d changed my blogging alias to Awkwardsaurus. It fits me a million times better, and makes me want to cry of cringe slightly less.

I mentioned this last year, and I’ll mention it again. After starting my blog, I experienced a few panic attacks: the first in October, and a few others up until now. Without people to talk to, I wouldn’t have recovered as smoothly as I did. I took to WordPress, and told you all how I felt, what caused it, and the fears I had of something like it happening again. I couldn’t talk to anyone else about it, because I felt like they’d just brush it off and say it was nerves (a lot of people really don’t take mental health seriously). You listened, and you helped me. If you hadn’t, I’d have had all that cooped up inside, and it probably would have made my situation even worse.

Blogging has been useful to me, for all the reasons I never thought it would. I thought it’d be easy to gain readers, and have lots of comments as well as likes, but it’s more than that. When I started blogging, I had crazy issues with my self-confidence. I was terrified to even talk to teachers, ordering food or drink from a barista made me shake, and I was constantly convinced that my friends didn’t like me (kind of happened BUT THAT’S BESIDES THE POINT). Obviously, there are a bunch of other factors that played into it, but since then (2015, oh my god that sounds like so long ago) I’ve flourished into a more confident, and happier version of who I was then. Sure, standing in front of the school year still makes me blush and tremble, but I’ve started doing things for me, that I wouldn’t have been able to do before. I’ve made more friends. thanks to not being scared to go and talk to people, I’ve bought things I wouldn’t have before (menstrual cup, anyone?) and I’ve switched to a skirt for school.

If you’re thinking about starting a blog, and you haven’t done already, I can’t stress how much I think you should. Even if just a small part of you thinks it’d be fun, or a way to pass the summer (that’s why I set up this one), just go for it, set up a website here on WordPress, and I’ll be more than happy to help you out!

Anyways, thanks to everyone who’s been stuck in this for the long-haul, and to new readers, too. I know, I’m a pain to keep up with but it means the world to me.

Until next time

An Optimist Amongst Pessimists

Hey… I’m writing this super late, since it’s actually past midnight here in the UK.
Within my friendship group, there’s been all sorts of dramas in the last week, and I’ll definitely get another post up soon to explain it all and whatnot, but for now, it’s probably useful to know that there’s been a slight fall out between two halves of our group.

SO, naturally, the majority of our group are pretty bummed about it. As I’ll explain in the next post, I’m not so much affected since I managed to KEEP MY HEAD OUT OF THE DRAMA (apologies, ahem.) but the rest of the girls in our group seem to have took a big hit from it.

Bare in mind, this all began last Saturday, and escalated rapidly on Wednesday. Friday (although now it’s Saturday) rolled around and my friends are being painfully pessimistic.

Before I get into the details, I’ll mention that I’m an optimist. I’m a positive thinker, I firmly believe that everything happens with purpose, that nothing is entirely bad and that everything will turn out good in the end.

My friends however, are quite the opposite. They seem to let one negative thing outrule the entire year of good memories we’ve had in Year 10, saying that “Life is so shit” and “I thought this year would be better”, to which I replied saying that life isn’t bad, and that they were just ignoring all the good that had happened this year.

Just because I don’t outwardly show sadness or pain in person or through dramatic paragraphs, doesn’t mean I don’t ever feel it, so what Britt replied tugged my nerves a little. She’d said that my life is all fine and happy, seemingly implying that everything to happen for me is all sunshine and rainbows. Any frequent reader of this blog will fully understand that that’s not the case. The difference is, as an overall, I try to focus on the things that make me happy. You’ll know that this year I’ve dealt with a lot, including the separation of our friendship group recently.

“Nothing bad has happened to you this year”. To assume that someone has it perfectly, is a hundred percent unreasonable, if you ask me. So by this point, I was getting a little annoyed and ended up saying “JUST FOCUS ON THE GOOD JESUS WHERE IS YOUR OPTIMISM?”. She replied with “What good?”.

I understand that people might have stuff going on that we don’t know about, and that it’s perfectly reasonable to feel down from time to time (as we all do), but to blatantly ignore all the times you’ve laughed until you couldn’t breathe, smiled so hard your jaw hurt and physically not been able to hold back from making a little inside joke or smirk is just unfair. Unfair on all the people that would then feel as if they aren’t good enough for you. If nothing is good, then surely that means the friendships aren’t good either?

Being a positive person, surrounded by so much negativity is getting to me a little, and I’m feeling slightly squashed so I needed to have a little rant on here.

Thank you for listening, and if anyone is hurt by anything I’ve said, I’m sorry.

HAIRCARE 101

It’s me again, Awkwardsaurus 🙂

I’m trying to get back on top of posting as frequently as I can, so if you’re confused by more regular posting then this is why.

(Editing note: I’ve had this post drafted for ages and I know, at this point in time REGULAR POSTING HAHA WHAT IS THAT?)

Anyways, my Sims is loading (Sims 3 if you’re interested), so I thought I’d pass the time by writing another post.

Ever since being about seven or eight, I’ve had longer than average hair. Currently, it goes down to about two inches above my hips, so frankly, there’s a lot of it to deal with.
In this post, I’ll be sharing some of my (extremely unprofessional and 100% personal experience/opinion-based) insight on the world of hair. 😀

Know Your Hair Type

Before you go out and try products or methods to look after your locks, it’s important to know what type of hair you actually have. It’s similar to skin types, most falling into either dry, oily or normal. If you find yourself having to wash your hair often because it gets greasy quickly, chances are you have oily hair. If you’re the opposite, and it takes a few days to build up oils, you probably have dry hair (hello, me too). If neither seem to fit, then you might have normal hair.

Buy Shampoo Designed for Your Hair Type

Don’t be wary to buy Shampoo with rather long names or claims. Mine’s the L’oréal Elvive Extraordinary Oil Nourishing Shampoo for Very Dry, Dull, Rebellious Hair. How’s that for a title? The point is, you shouldn’t be intimidated by all the words and end up buying a simple looking shampoo that doesn’t suit your hair type. Trust me, you’ll know when you find one that does!

Turn Down the Heat

Straighteners, curling irons, hairdryers. They’re all pretty hot. Sure, you can’t exactly cut out straighteners or curlers from your life if you’re a frequent user, but hairdryers usually have a heat setting. The coldest one is impractical, since it takes about 5 years to dry all of my hair, but the middle setting is the compromise I settle for. With styling tools, make sure you protect your hair with a heat protector!

Be Gentle

I once read a saying that said to treat your hair like it’s your best silk dress. I can’t remember when I came across it, but it’s stuck in my head ever since. Don’t tug it violently when you’re brushing out tangles; don’t scrub it aggressively with a towel; and try not to have it constantly in tight styles (I know that one’s tough when you literally live in ponytails).

Sleep With Hair Down

Tying (hehe puns) in with my last point, too much straining of your hair causes the strands to point in unnatural directions, essentially stunting their growth. If you want to grow out your hair, it’s definitely a good idea to give the bobbles a break and take it down while you sleep!

Get it Cut!!!

Without getting your hair cut, you’ll develop split ends, which – for those of you that aren’t aware – are hairs that have, well, split down the centre and become two thinner ends. Cutting your hair keeps it healthy, and prevents it from splitting!

And those are some of my tips! What are some of your hair hacks?

A Crazy Week

It is I: Awkwardsaurs.

This week has been fantastic, I’ll have you know. It’s zipped by within what feels like just a day, and I’ve really proven to myself that I am in control.

Monday started off a little blue, as all Mondays do, but especially blue since exam week was over. Why was I missing exams, you might ask? Well, since I have no lessons with Flynn, the exams were the only time I ever saw him except passing by in corridors, and it just so happened that I had a good bit of free time in my exams and used that to my advantage. 😉

HOWEVER, that Monday was about to take a turn. So. So. Fast.

As I arrived to my form room (a science lab, if you’re interested), I realised Flynn was stood outside. I assumed he was chatting to some of his friends that were in my form.

Our form teacher let us in, and Flynn followed us all. I guessed he was being silly and just deciding to walk into the wrong class on purpose. But he didn’t leave. And sir told him to sit down. At this point, I was pretty damn confused, not to mention terrified. So I made sure to listen especially carefully to the register. Sure enough, his name was called out – which meant he was in my form.

I ended up concentrating too hard on the fact that he was literally sat right behind me and accidentally said a strange mess of “Yes Miss-Sir” when my name was called out… Classic Awkwardsaurus.

At this point, Ashley was laughing at me (in a friendly way, of course), since she knows fully well about Flynn. I’d convinced myself I was dreaming. Things like that just don’t happen.

First lesson, maths, rolled around, and I was bursting with excitement to tell Britt. I walked in, and saw her sat at her desk, tapped the table and said “you won’t believe this”. Of course, that caught her attention and she was begging to know. “Guess who’s in my form?” was how I finally told her. She lost it. Literally. But for the entire lesson we were barely concentrated on the maths. How could we?

It was about Lunch time, when I realised that it really mustn’t be a dream, since i hadn’t woken up yet, and the news had spread to my closest girl-friends.

Britt, Penny and I were planning ways I could talk to him that night over WhatsApp, and Tuesday finally rolled around. But he was doing a job for our form teacher, so I couldn’t talk.

Wednesday was the first shot I had. I was way too nervous and jittery.

Thursday – I almost did, but got too scared. That day (yesterday) was mainly me being annoyed at myself for not doing it.

But then.

Friday – After scrolling through so many quotes on tumblr about stepping out of your comfort zone and listening to Fifth Harmony, I somehow plucked up the courage to say something. After the register was finished, I was practically chanting “do it” in my head, until turning around and asking “What’ve we got first?” I knew exactly what I had first (chemistry), and what he had first for that matter (geography) but it was the easiest way to make conversation I could think of. Although he only replied with “I don’t know” and I left the conversation there before I exploded, I’m so insanely proud of myself.

In case you hadn’t caught on, that was the first time I’ve spoken to him, and if you aren’t sure who Flynn is, let me enlighten you.

He’s a popular guy in my year, and easily the best looking guy in the school in my opinion. My friends have known about him since early October, so it’s took me quite a while to finally speak to him.

Moral of the story: stepping out of your comfort zone can be SO WORTH IT, even if it doesn’t get you that far. You’ll be proud of yourself, too.

Here’s one of the quotes that I downloaded:

Monthly Look-Ahead: MARCH 2017

BACK AGAIN HEY THERE

It’s been way too long since I did a Look-Ahead post, and I really do love writing them, so since it’s the first day of March I thought I’d get back into it!

Wow that was a pretty long sentence.

Anyways.

There’s a good bit to look forward to this month, so let’s get right into it, shall we?

Lenten Cake Stall

As you may already know, today is the first day of Lent (the buildup to Easter). I go to a Catholic school, because my family are Catholic, so our school does a lot of fundraising for charities. One of those things happens to be a lot of cake stalls. Since Year 7 (first year of high school) I’ve been a faithful customer to the graphics teacher’s tuck shop. That makes this year the fourth year of buying dozens of blueberry muffins over Lent. I love blueberry muffins, so what’s not to be excited for?

My Birthday

Another year has rolled around, and my birthday is just over a week away. I’ll be 15 on March 9th, which is next Thursday. Thankfully, it’s the one day of the week that I don’t have English. Actually, I’d say it’s one of my favourite days, lesson-wise! And then a few days later it’s Ashley’s birthday!

Mock Exams

Sure I’m not too thrilled by the prospect of sitting in an exam hall for hours taking exams but it gets me out of some lessons, which could be a bonus? Plus, I guess you could say it’s my only time to have lessons with Flynn, since we’ll all be in the hall at the same time! 😉

Passport Arrivals

You might remember that I’m going to Italy in October as a Geography school trip to the Bay of Naples (Pompeii and all that jazz). After the third time of sending passport forms off, we finally got a text to say that it had been posted and was on the way back. The first time, they needed proof that my new photo was still me, and the second time, the signatures weren’t right. Quite the hassle, but now that we’re finally there I’m just quite excited to have a passport for the first time in 10 years.

The Space Between Us

On February 10th (not sure why I remembered the exact date, but it’d be nice if I could remember my French that well), The Space Between Us was released in the UK. It’s a romance film about a boy who moved to Earth from Mars to be with a girl. I’m a huge sucker for romance movies and I’m not sure why I haven’t gotten around to seeing it, but I plan on doing in the next month!

Fixed Heating?

Since Saturday, the boiler in my house has broken, so we have no radiator heat, no hot water, and I’m pretty dang cold. I’ve been sat under several blankets the majority of the time, since it’s currently the coldest it’s been in a few weeks here in the UK. Tomorrow, though, there’s someone coming to take a look at it to see if they can fix it. Fingers crossed!

That’s everything (I think?) for March 2017!

BYEEEE 😛

Awkwardsaurus

P.S. Let me know some of your favourite romance films!

Being Extremely Unproductive

Hey there people of the blogosphere 🙂

How’s life going? Good? I hope so.

I’m currently on half term break, and I have been for a week now (we finished last Friday). For those of you that don’t know what half term break is, it’s basically a week off school midway through the semester, as you might call it. In the UK, we have terms.

But anyways, I have mock exams coming up in two weeks and two days, and I am not prepared in the slightest.

With all the revision piling up, it got to the point where I had no idea what to revise, so I ended up binge watching romance movies and playing The Sims… Not the best way to prepare but hey. The school haven’t been all too good on advising us what to look over, since we haven’t been told which papers it even is that we’ll be sitting. Obviously for subjects like Geography, that could mean I might accidentally revise the wrong paper, which is a huge waste of time.

Not to mention that I have a slight lack of revision guides, and the majority of my school books are in school… So there’s not much to use!

Anyhoozle, exams aside.

It’s my birthday in a week and six days, which is slightly nerve wracking. For those of you that don’t know, I don’t particularly enjoy the spotlight of a birthday, and when I’ll be in school all day, holding birthday bags that my friends will no-doubt drown me in, it’s pretty difficult for people not to notice.

Don’t get me wrong, I love to receive gifts and all, but I much prefer it at Christmas when it isn’t just me. Do you get what I mean?

However I guess you could say there’s a bonus. Last year, Britt and Penny tried to find a guy in the year above that I liked at the time and somehow make him say happy birthday. They failed, and didn’t find him, but I wouldn’t be all to surprised if they purposely walked me by Flynn, drawing all attention towards me and my birthday bags. I wouldn’t be complaining if he happened to notice 😉

I haven’t been posting much lately, and I’m sorry, but I’ve been trying to make blogging more of a hobby than a chore. In late 2016, keeping up with my schedule was proving pretty difficult, and I was scraping my brain for ideas the majority of the time. This year, I’ve been blogging about things that matter to me more, and I can talk about without having to force. I’m hoping you don’t mind that that’s sacrificing a few posts a week.

I’ll try to gradually build it up, but for the meantime, just bare with me.

You might be wondering where my favourites and monthly look-ahead posts have disappeared to, and I assure you, they will make a reappearance in the near future! But the favourites post will definitely be a lengthy one!

I guess that’s all for today! See you around 🙂

BLOGMAS DAY 4 | CHRISTMAS MOVIE MARATHON

Hi,

I’m Just Average Teen Me. Welcome to Blogmas Day 4!

**********************************************

7 DAYS UNTIL CHRISTMAS!

**********************************************

There’s only a week to go! Almost there! Christmas is never complete without Christmas movies, so let’s get into some of my favourites!

Nativity

As overplayed as this film may be, it never fails to liven up the Christmas mood. Not to mention, the entire time I imagine Sherlock walking in to see John (Mr Maddens) dancing with a bunch of 7 year olds. 😀

Elf

Without a doubt, Elf is my all-time favourite Christmas movie, and if anything can ever overtake it… let’s just say I’d be very impressed! Will Ferrel is absolutely hilarious, and paired with Zooey Deschanel is just perfect!

The Holiday

I watched this for the first time last year, and it’s safe to say that it’s easily my second favourite Christmas movie. I’m an absolute sucker for romance, and Christmas is by far my favourite season. Put them together, and that’s a pretty good movie if you ask me! 😀

Home Alone

Classic. I don’t think there’s been a single year that my family hasn’t all sat together to watch Home Alone. Kevin is adorable, and the whole plot is so cleverly planned out. Not to mention, the wincing and cringing throughout the whole thing! 😀

Love Actually

I haven’t ever seen this before, but since I plan on watching it in the next few days, so I thought I’d let you know that it’s on my Christmas Movie List this year. I’ll update once I’ve watched it, and say what I thought via my twitter! It seems to be about romance, but that’s really all I know so far.

The Santa Clause

Being one of my dad’s favourite Christmas movies, we watch this one without fail almost every year. Charlie is so freaking cute, and the plot is so entertaining!

If you haven’t seen any of those films, I really would recommend checking them out, and if there’s any of your favourites that I missed, make sure to let me know in the comments! 😀

Happy Blogmas!

44 Crush Things

Hi,

I’m Just Average Teen Me. As you might remember me saying about a month ago, I’ve sort of developed a crush on someone in my year, so I thought it would be fun to share some of the things and emotions (because they’re all over the place) that come with infatuation. ❤

  1. Realising you have a crush and feeling the mixture of excitement and “oh snap what is this”
  2. Telling someone about it, and fearing for your life for the first few weeks of them knowing
  3. Watching romance films and slowly dying (The Notebook and A Walk to Remember are two of my favourites. Both will more than likely make you cry, so if you’re watching them, get the tissues ready!)
  4. Social media stalking (who doesn’t?)
  5. Sending your friends on undercover missions to follow request them on Instagram
  6. And then subtly asking for their photos (okay, I know, I’m creepy)
  7. Beating yourself up because he’s  a popular guy that you’ve never even spoken to and this whole crush is completely superficial
  8. Googling quotes about crushes and reading through them until you reach the end of Google
  9. Convincing yourself you don’t have a crush on them, but then seeing them in person and YUP DEFINITELY STILL HAVE A CRUSH
  10. Forever wishing you had lessons with them
  11. And then finding out that one of your friends spends several hours a week next to them in lessons (the jealousy is real)
  12. Going to bed wishing that you dream about them
  13. That rush of adrenaline walking past them, sweaty hands and a pounding heart
  14. Taking any and all evidence that they aren’t as bad as they seem
  15. Begging for details when your friends spoke to them
  16. “HE OFFERED YOU HIS BLAZER?!” (I’m not kidding this actually happened. He bottle flipped, ended up drenching Hayley, and then offered her his blazer. *swoons*)
  17. Walking around where they hang out
  18. Finding out that he’s in a lesson next door to you, and finding out by looking through a door (it’s a clear door between two classrooms) and seeing him right there (sudden panic amiright?)
  19. Genuinely not knowing whether him seeing you is a good thing or not, because you look like a potato but he’d know you exist… Dilemmas
  20. Finding yourself smiling and then realising you’re thinking of him
  21. Giggling at random points in conversation when he’s brought up
  22. And trying not to when you’re with people that don’t know that you like him
  23. Always having a specific song for every new crush
  24. That look your friends give you when he enters the room
  25. And the look you give back willing them to shut up
  26. But still trying to glance at them every now and then
  27. Accidental eye contact and literally dying
  28. The Crush Song. If you haven’t heard it, let me enlighten you (it’s at the end of the list)
  29. Convincing yourself that you aren’t doing your hair differently for him, it’s for you
  30. Your friends find the whole situation rather hilarious. Britt once burst out laughing because Flynn was looking into our maths room… :/
  31. The blushing 😮
  32. Stalking on social media even more
  33. Crush playlists
  34. Critiquing the things they do like you’re their mother
  35. The relief of seeing them drinking Lucozade instead of alcohol like the rest of their friends
  36. Wondering what they’re doing right now
  37. Telepathically trying to make them think of you
  38. When you think he’s single and you become Katniss volunteering for the Hunger Games
  39. If you could feel my pulse right now, it would hit you like a sledgehammer (jams)
  40. Looking forward to Monday because school is the only place you see them
  41. And feeling so disappointed when they aren’t in
  42. When they haven’t seen your amazing Snapchat yet (I don’t know Snapchat terminology, nor do I actually have it on my phone, but I know that Penny deals with this all the time)
  43. Cute song lyrics ❤
  44. Thanking his parents for giving him a common name so my friends can’t guess which ‘Flynn’ it is 😉

And that’s everything! I hope you enjoyed reading, and could relate to some of these!

HAPPY CRUSHING!
