November 2016 Favourites

Hi,

I’m Just Average Teen Me. We’re already a week into December, and slowly getting closer and closer to Christmas but for the next few minutes let’s look back to November. It was pretty insane, not going to lie, but there was some good stuff 😀

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them

Most Harry Potter fans will have seen this by now, but I’ll avoid spoilers; don’t worry! Although I would say I prefer the Harry Potter films, fbawtft (abbreviation, if you’re wondering) was super amazing, and Eddie Redmayne was a fantastic actor for Newt! Definitely recommend!

Lindt Hot Chocolate

As an avid fan of both Lindt and hot chocolate, I more than likely squealed when I found out Costa were selling Lindt hot chocolates as a part of their Christmas range of drinks. I went with Ashley after school one day (coincidentally, we were right behind Flynn for a good ten minutes which I am not complaining about at all) and although it’s just shy of £3 for a pretty small sized hot chocolate, it was beyond worth it! One way I found to describe it was: like chocolate cake mix before it’s been baked. Heart eyes all over ❤

B&M

If you live in the UK, you might be familiar with B&M Bargains, if not, let me enlighten you. It’s essentially a shop with a lot of cheap things. It’s a lot of the things that you’d get in other shops, but for considerably cheaper in price, not to mention the insane variety of stuff there. You might remember that it’s where I did my school shopping this year! It’s also where I do the majority of any birthday and Christmas shopping. Check it out if you have any nearby!

Shawn Mendes

Ashley, being the insane Shawn Mendes fan that she is, has got us two tickets to see him on his Illuminate tour next April. Sure, I’d heard the more famous songs like ‘Stitches’ and I had ‘Treat You Better’ saved to my Spotify along with a few others like ‘Life of the Party’ but I hadn’t properly listened to the majority of his music. I’ve been pleasantly surprised by it, and have ended up knowing all of the words to them all within about a month and a half! Lights On is definitely my fave 😀

OUAT Season 6A

I’m pretty damn sad to say, but OUAT has just broken up for the mid-season break (cries river of lost souls). That doesn’t at all take away from how amazing the first half of the season was! So many new situations literally had me begging for more after every new episode, and now I have to wait until (probably) March for the next half of the season.. 😦

Teen Wolf Season 6

As you might remember from previous posts, I’m a fan of the MTV series: Teen Wolf. The Final Season started earlier this month, and while I’ll no doubt miss it, I can’t wait to see where this season is going! The new villains, the Ghost Riders, are some of the most intriguing characters they’ve had yet, and I’m just hanging onto hope that Daniel Sharman will come back as Isaac at some point! 😀

That’s most of what I’ve been enjoying this month! Let me know what you’ve been loving in the comments!

August 2016 Favourites

Hi,

I’m Just Average Teen Me. School is underway and September has officially begun. I mean, it’s been a few days, but as I write this, it’s actually only 3 days in. Anyway, I have a few things I’ve been really enjoying this month, and it’s the perfect time to share them, as I do at the end of all the other months!

Coconut Chips

While I was out with my friends last week, I was casually walking down the checkout aisle in Primark, when a pretty bag of coconut chips caught my eye. I hadn’t eaten lunch yet, and I didn’t plan on doing, so I snatched a bag from the shelves and bought it right then. They claim to be 100% natural with no preservatives or anything, but honestly, I’m not sure. They kind of attacked my lips later on in the day… Skin was going chapped and they were preeettyyy dark pink… The actual coconut chips tasted amazing, though, and I still have the bag of leftovers on my desk, but I can only smell them – no eating… If you’re sensitive to that kind of thing, then I would suggest avoiding them.

Vaseline

Because of the slight disaster in the lip department, I needed a solution, as fast as possible. Vaseline happened to be the closest thing I had, so I loaded it onto my lips every hour or so. It took about three days for them to go back normal, but it would have took so much longer if I didn’t have any! Thank you Vaseline ❤

No Makeup At All

With it being Summer Holidays, chances were, I wouldn’t see anyone I actually knew, so I didn’t bother to wear makeup all month. You’d think it’d have some sort of skin benefits, but I really didn’t notice anything. I just found it quite empowering to not care about what random people think of how your skin looks. Plus, I didn’t have to deal with putting it on every morning! 😀

Stationery Shopping

As I have mentioned several times in the last few posts, I love to shop for stationery. And having school coming up meant that we had to do just that! As I mentioned in my Stationery Haul, I went to B&M for the majority of my school supplies, aside from a pencil sharpener and school bags. Anyway, I always find stationery shopping really refreshing, and exciting.

Teen Wolf

Ashley has raved about Teen Wolf for so long, and I only started watching it about two weeks ago (actually just over two weeks, but exactly two weeks as I write this!) when I realised just how attractive Dylan O’Brien is. I’ve seen both of the Maze Runner movies a few times, and not really taken much notice, but I watched The Internship, and those glasses won me over. Attractiveness aside, it’s a really good TV show, and had me hooked throughout the whole thing. It took me about a week to watch all five seasons, and now I have to wait until November for season 6, which will be the last one 😦

Chord Overstreet

If you said his name to me, the first thing on my mind, would more than likely be ‘Fabrevans’ or ‘Overgron’ which is my all-time favourite ship in the entire universe of ships. But this has nothing to do with Dianna Agron (although she is insanely beautiful and I just thought I’d let you know). Chord recently released a single called “Homeland” and it’s safe to say that it has been one of my favourite songs for the last few weeks. If you’re a fan of Taylor Swift’s old music, then you’ll probably like this, so I definitely recommend checking it out on iTunes or Spotify!

Time to Myself

Sure, I like having the company of my friends, but I just as much love being able to bask in the silence of my bedroom. Correction: bask in the havoc of a house with 5 children younger than me. Anyway, it’s nice to have some alone time, no matter how much it is. Being the introvert that I am, I love having some quiet time, where I can do whatever I feel like.

Blolidays Posts

If you didn’t already know, for the last six weeks, I’ve been doing posts called ‘Blolidays’, which is a hybrid word that I invented from blog and holidays. I really enjoyed writing them all, and I’ll definitely miss it. Hopefully, you liked reading them!

Miss Sporty Crush On You

This is a perfume that one of my friends got for me at my birthday in March. At the time, it was cold and wet, so I didn’t feel like it really fit in. But now that Summer has been (and almost gone), it’s been a perfect match. It’s supposed to be Freesia and Violet petal scented, so it smells quite floral. If you’re a fan of that kind of smell, I definitely think you should have a look – or a smell!

That’s everything from August 2016! What have you been enjoying this month? Let me know in the comments!

JULY 2016 FAVOURITES

Hi,

I’m Just Average Teen Me. Since we are now passed my blogiversary, I need to specify that this is in fact, not last July’s favourites. A WHOLE YEAR GUYS! That’s a long time! So, for about two weeks now, I’ve had a random list of words that I plan on putting into this post, most of which are either “Aaron” or “Tveit”…. I decided now was a good time to get it all into an actual post, because August is nearing, and this post needs to get up.

LES MIS

At the end of the school year, when all the work is pretty much finished, teachers end up just playing films on the board. In French, we watched Les Mis, which I hadn’t actually seen before. It took a minute to get used to the fact that there was literally no speaking at all (it’s all singing)  but I’m thinking that watching Glee for years sort of helped. Basically, I loved it – a lot. I’ve watched it twice more at home since, and listened to the soundtrack several times. My favourite is One Day More, because damn those goosebumps at the end when they sing about “tomorrow”! 😀

AARON TVEIT

On the topic of my newfound love for Les Mis, you may know that there’s a fairly central character with the most perfect brown curly hair (his hair is amazing). I was sat with Penny in the classroom, and every time he’d appear on the screen I’d be like “PENNY WHAT’S HIS NAME?” And we just couldn’t get it. After the lesson, I ended up asking Regina, because she’s kind of obsessed with Les Mis, and she was bound to know. Turns out, his name was Enjolras. Since then, I’ve developed a sort-of-celebrity-crush on Aaron Tveit, who plays Enjolras.  He was Danny in Grease Live too!

YOOMOO SMOOTHIES AND FROYOS

If you read my post about going to a theme park, you’ll know that I discovered one of my new favourite foods. In Pleasure Beach, there’s a little shop (there’s lots of little shops, actually) that sells smoothies and froyos (frozen yogurts). THEY’RE DELICIOUS! If you’re ever in Pleasure Beach, you should definitely check it out!

KICKTHEPJ

So, this is a recent YouTube discovery of mine. It’s quite hard to define the genre of his channel, but it’s definitely worth having a look at! Not to mention, he has very pretty green eyes! And he’s super funny!

GIRL ONLINE AND GIRL ONLINE: ON TOUR

With the pre-order release of Girl Online Going Solo, it was only right for me to celebrate by re-reading the first two books for the billionth time. If you didn’t already know, the Girl Online books are teen romance novels by Zoe Sugg (Or Zoella as you might know her on YouTube). If you haven’t already read them, I definitely suggest you do!

TUMBLR

About two months ago, I installed Tumblr, and set up an account and whatnot. It took me quite a while to fully understand how it all works, but this month especially, I’ve been loving it a lot!

That’s everything I’ve been loving in July! What have you been up to?

JUNE FAVOURITES

Hi,

I’m Just Average Teen Me. Just in case you’ve been living under a rock, it’s the end of June. Yeah, I’m insanely shocked too. So, one of my favourite things to do every month is this favourites post… you know what, I’m just going to get on with it and stop explaining things because I am just about as bad at explaining things as a giraffe is at swimming.

Mango Body Wash – Boots extracts

At Christmas, in 2014, a friend of mine (Ashley to be specific) bought me a little shower set. I hadn’t used it much until fairly recently, hence why it’s in this month’s favourites. Also, don’t worry, it isn’t out of date! It lasts for 2 years! For anyone interested, this is what it says on the bottle.

“Gently cleanses, conditions and moisturises, leaving skin feeling soft and smooth. Fragrant and softening body wash containing mango extract derived from the mangifera indica fruit.”

For those of you, like myself, who aren’t dermatologists or have somewhat creepy skin knowledge, just know that it feels super silky and soft after you’ve used it! It’s also Fairtrade and organic, so what’s not to love?

Mango Body Butter – Boots extracts

Along with the body wash, the set also came with a body butter in a little tub. This one says:

“Moisturises and hydrates, leaving skin feeling soft and smooth. Nourishing body butter containing mango extract derived from the mangifera indica fruit.”

Obviously, this one is also both Fairtrade and organic, so that’s a bonus. With it being Summer, I’ve found that I’m experiencing a teeny lil’ bit o’ backne…. I know, it’s a tiny bit awkward, but yeah, it exists, and I’m anonymous on here, so what’s to hide? Other than my identity. Anyways, this seems to be helping a LOT with healing any scars that might be there, and it’s just an all-round nice feeling to have on your skin, acne or no acne. I’m a little bit obsessed with the smell of this, probably because of the sudden start to Summer and all, but this one has a slightly stronger smell, which makes it BEAUTIFUL!

Taylor – Taylor Swift Perfume

This perfume was actually included in my first ever favourites post, I think? Well, shortly after putting it into that post, the lid jammed. And even the strongest dude in the world probably couldn’t have pried that off… So, at some point in this month, I popped the lid off. Okay let me rephrase that; it sounds too easy there. Ahem. So, at some point in the month, I strained every muscle in my fingers, and yanked the lid, bouncing at the sheer force that I was exerting on that hellish demon of a bottle. Yeah that’s more like it. When it finally gave up and let me open the bottle, I was first of all shocked, and then I just kind of sat there and smelled it for a good five minutes. STOP JUDGING ME! It’s one of my favourite smells and I hadn’t smelled it in almost a year. I have my reasons.

Harry Potter Colouring Book

Before I get onto this, I’ll just type up what it says on the back.

“From the heraldry of the four Hogwarts houses to the extravagant wares of Weasleys’ Wizard Wheezes, the world of Harry Potter overflows with radiant colour. Filled with intricate illustrations and elaborate designs used in the making of the Harry Potter films, this book invites you to imbue the wizarding world with colour in your own explorations of Hogwarts castle, the Forbidden Forest and much more. You will also find pages of magical creatures and iconic scenes from the films, from the Sorting Ceremony in Harry’s first year, to the unforgettable final battle between Harry and Lord Voldemort, as well as some of the marvellous props used in the movies, such as The Quibbler, Quidditch World Cup posters, and the Triwizard Cup.”

I realise that’s a lot to take in, but it’s basically a book filled with pictures from Harry Potter, without colour. Hence it being a colouring book. It has coloured pictures in the background, so it’s easy to make sure you’re colouring everything right if you’re a paranoid perfectionist like myself.

The Danish Girl

For those of you that might not know, The Danish Girl is a film, released earlier on in the year, I think? Anyways, since nobody would go with me, I was quite bummed, because I’d really wanted to see that one. Eddie Redmayne was amazing in The Theory of Everything, so I assumed this one would be just as good. Anyways, in June, I ended up being a right rebellious teenager and watched it online. It was so beautiful and inspiring, emotional and just a great film. If you can, I definitely recommend watching it, or at least watching the trailer on YouTube to have a look. There was a tiny bit of nudity every now and then, but I’m guessing we’re all mature enough to handle that.

I know this post has had less things in it than my favourites posts might normally, but that seems to be all that I can think of! What have you been enjoying over the last month?

MAY FAVOURITES

Hi,

I’m Just Average Teen Me. First of all, if I come off as irritated or lazy in this post, it’s because I wrote it days ago, and my WiFi hasn’t worked since. I’m guessing it’s because of that, but the post isn’t even in my drafts… Not to mention the stuffy nose and cough I’ve been dealing with lately. 😦

Sorry about that, I’ll try as hard as I can to make this post as similar and entertaining as the first version…

So, a few things in this post will be revision related, with it having been exam season and all.

Handy Notepads

In early May when I was doing most of my revision, these were out constantly. I bought two of them at the start of the school year: one in pink, and another in purple, from Tesco if you’re wondering. If you’re looking for a good quality, supermarket notepad, I definitely recommend these, if they’re even still in stock at this time of year…. If not, I saw some really nice ones in BnM Bargains! Anyways, I’ve been using those a loooot this month! 😀

Gel Pens

On the topic of revision, I’m the kind of person who likes to visualise things when I’m trying to remember them during a test. I’ve found that the best way to do that is through colour coding everything. I code the different types of plate margins, types of R.E. questions, you name it! So, as you can imagine, I was slightly worried when my fine liners (If you don’t have any, I really recommend getting some of these too!)  ran out… until I found my several year old pencil case filled with every coloured gel pen you can imagine. Aside from the smudging, these worked just as well! And everyone knows, if you have gel pens you’re winning at life! 😉

Sherlock

Recently, I’ve been rewatching the BBC Series Sherlock. If you’re a Sherlock fan, you’ll know that it’s been years since season three, and probably understand how it feels to have to wait all that time. During the hiatus, I’ve re-watched the whole thing several times, which really doesn’t take long since there are only three episodes in every season. Anyways, even hearing the soundtrack made me realise how much I’d missed Sherlock for the last 3 or 4 months where I hadn’t watched it. I’d missed Moriarty, too.

*Prays that there’s a Sherlock fan out there who understood that pun* But really, Moriarty is one of the reasons I watch Sherlock in the first place. 😀

7/27 Fifth Harmony

I’m not sure if I mentioned it in my last favourites post, but I’ve been loving 5H’s music lately, as of about April. If you’re a fan of them too, you’ll know that their album, 7/27 was released late in May. I downloaded it the day it came out and fell in love with every track. Apart from the early releases: Work from Home (one of my favourites ever), Write on Me and The Life, my favourite newer songs are I Lied and Scared of Happy. I absolutely love the vibe of all the new songs, and can’t wait to listen to them all Summer!

Once Upon a Time Season 5

Back to TV shows again! Some of you may already know – who am I kidding, all of you probably know by now – about my slight obsession with OUAT. If any of you guys are up to date with it, you’ll know that the season finale aired in May. IT WAS AMAZING AND THE PLOT TWISTS AND NEW CHARACTERS AND RUMBELLE! Basically, it’s a slight overload on my emotions, but not as much as the several month wait we have until season 6.

Also can we just talk about Lea Michele and Dean Geyer’s harmonies? Totally of topic, but I just ended up on their cover of Give Your Heart a Break…

Stack – Ketchapp

Although I deleted this app to make room for others, that was in this month. In May, I loved it. If you’re a fan of quick arcade games to play while you’re on the bus, I really suggest checking out a few ketchapp apps if you haven’t already! I played this one for days and days when I was on the bus!

That’s everything I can remember from the first time I wrote this! I hope you enjoyed reading! Make sure to let me know what you’ve been loving last month!

APRIL FAVOURITES

Hi,

I’m Just Average Teen Me. After several weeks of not posting, I am finally back! For those of you who don’t follow my blogging twitter, I have been abducted by the world of aliens. If revision counts as aliens, that is. Hang on, I’m just going to check how long it’s been.  *** 25th April. So, about 2 and a half weeks. It feels like so much longer! Let’s just say, I’ve missed your faces, well not your faces because this is a website but hey! I’ve missed blogging, and it’s nice to be back!

Let’s get on with the actual post then, shall we?

Ally Carter – I’d tell you I love you, but then I’d have to kill you

Oh it’s my favourites, by the way.

As insane as that may sound to any of you who haven’t read this book, it’s actually extremely entertaining, and relatable for that matter. As I do with a lot of books, I’ll type up the blurb.

“Gallagher Academy isn’t a school for geniuses, it’s a school for spies…

Cammie Morgan might be capable of killing a man in seven different ways, but she’s about to begin her most dangerous mission yet: falling in love”

And now you probably understand that it isn’t as violent as it seems. If I’m not mistaken, there are 5 other books in the Gallagher Girls/Ally Carter series. I’ll definitely be trying to get my hands on a few of the others when I can! As well as Infinity Rises, which I am DESPERATE to read!

Black Jeans – Primark

As I said in my April look ahead, I planned on buying some black jeans, and that’s exactly what I did. Just a couple days later. Unfortunately, I couldn’t see any high waisted ones, which if you know me, are my equivalent of heaven. Normal jeans are fine too though. So, they’re black, have a little button at the top, and belt hooks, which is always a good thing. Obviously, they’re skinny ones, too. In case you’re wondering, I bought them in UK size 6 long, which actually is a little too long, but I quite like having them thick/ruffled/bunched at the bottom. And if I ever feel like it, which I’m sure I will at some point, I could always roll up the cuffs. 😀

Starbucks

As a huge hot chocolate fanatic, it’s only reasonable that I am always in utter love with the coffee scented haven that is Starbucks. In April, I went twice, one time I got a hazelnut hot chocolate, which was incredibly delicious (and also 600 calories – no regrets) and then the other time, I opted for my usual – Hot chocolate with cinnamon.

Easter Eggs

Fun fact: I like to make my chocolate last as ridiculously long as I can. But who doesn’t? I had my Easter eggs for about a week, which meant that they lasted into April, so they count, right? Who doesn’t love chocolate? It deserves to be in here 😀

Chocolate in general

I know, it has now been about 2 months since my birthday, but in April, I finished my birthday chocolates. I’m not actually sure if I’ve told you the excessive amount that I ate but I think now’s a good time anyway.

  • 6 jam tarts from my Grandma (I know, not chocolate)
  • A box of Viennese Chocolate Fox biscuits
  • A box of Lindt Lindors (my absolute most favourite chocolate EEEVVAAAAARRRRRRR)
  • 8 single Hot Fudge Sundae Pop Tarts
  • A pack of double stuff Oreos
  • A big dairy milk bar
  • A rather large box of dark chocolates (double layers! 😉 )
  • An Easter bunny
  • The rest of my Easter eggs

Honestly, I’m impressed my body even managed to keep itself functioning and alive after all of that 😀

A Certain Somebody

I know, I’m anonymous on here, but I’m still  not comfortable with letting you in on this massive secret, just in case any of my friends secretly stalk my blog… Basically, for the last few months, I’ve been head-over-heels in love with this ‘celebrity’. Within my friendship group, we call him * insert celebrity’s name here *. Ashley’s pretty sure she knows who it is, but I’m hoping she’s wrong. There’s something about having a secret that nobody knows that just makes me so happy, you know? That you’re the only one in the world who knows!

Kelsea Ballerini

On the topic of music, I’ve been loving Kelsea Ballerini (a new discovery of mine)! She has a song for pretty much every mood you can possibly be in. My personal favourite is Yeah Boy, which I may or may not completely relate to. Stilettos is also a very relatable and empowering one. And Xo is perfect to bounce around your room like a superstar to. Make sure to check her out!

OUAT

Need I say any more? I’m just repeating myself 😀

Spotify

A recent download of mine, which has definitely taken over my life, is Spotify! It’s actually how I found some of the new music I’ve been listening to lately (Kelsea, Lawson and revisited old McFly)

That’s everything I can think of, and this post is getting pretty long!

OH! IMPORTANT QUESTION!

Do you think I should do a May look-ahead, since we’re already almost half way through May anyways?

Thank you SO much for reading! Make sure to like and follow if you like my blog and leave any thoughts or suggestions in the comments!

MARCH FAVOURITES

Hi,

I’m Just Average Teen Me. As most of you, or those that have been here for over a month, will know, I do a monthly favourites post, which I love to do very much. And since today is almost the end of March, I thought I would write it now!

First of all, I am very sorry for missing the last two post days…. With Sunday being Easter, it was really difficult to squeeze in any time to blog, with all the family stuff going on and whatnot. And yesterday, the WiFi was dodgy, and everyone was upstairs… Which obviously makes blogging in secret kind of difficult… So today will be my post that should have been written for yesterday! Just in case you don’t already, following me on twitter (@justme292929) will mean that you get told when I am not going to be posting, and  any other random things that are happening in my life.

So at this point, you all know that it’s been my birthday before now since a lot of these are birthday presents… 🙂

Okay I know I’ve been rambling forever, so here we go!

Fangirl – Rainbow Rowell

This was something I got for my birthday. It’s a book, if you didn’t already know. It’s very relatable, extremely adorable, very emotionally intense (it makes me ship Cath and Levi so much) and I love the pictures on the inside cover. It’s so cute. If you aren’t someone that reads a lot, I would definitely recommend this book, because it isn’t written as creatively (with long words and confusing sentences) as some other books are.

Infinity Lost – S. Harrison

This is another amazing book that I received for my birthday. Being the first book of a trilogy, it really does a good job of hooking you in. I would say that this one is quite the opposite to Fangirl, although I loved it nonetheless. This one is definitely very intense, and so unpredictable, which is one of the reasons I love it so much. As of now, I’m pondering whether to spend £8.99 on book two….  And I’m not the type who enjoys spending my own money… 😉

Kit Kats

I know this is a totally random one to throw in here, but I always have oddball ones floating around, right? I mean, once it was bagels, then pancakes – now Kit Kats! So, since it was Easter on Sunday, one of the Easter eggs I got was a Kit Kat one. For some reason, since I was little, I dug myself into a hole of “I don’t like Kit Kats” So I guess since then I’ve just given my Kit Kats to other people? I don’t remember eating many in my life. Anyways, I tried the Kit Kat Crunchy that came with the Easter egg and it was actually really tasty… Lesson learned: Don’t trust your younger self’s assumptions ❤

The Vamps

Never in my life did I think I’d be saying this. If you showed this to a 10 year old me, I’d have physically recoiled and been utterly disgusted. But I’ve been listening to The Vamps… Quite a lot… It started in late February, when they were on Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway and it’s still going now. Some of my favourites are Shout About It, Volcano, and Brad’s cover of Hallelujah. So there you guys have it, I have been listening to a band, of boys. :O

Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway

As I mentioned in the above one, I watch Ant and Dec. I’m not sure if it’s finished or not yet though…? Anyways, it’s really funny, although nothing will ever top when they had Louis Walsh on a couple of years ago. Find it on youtube! It’s hilarious! But yeah, so I have been loving that every week!

Face Masks

I hadn’t used a face mask in so long, until about a few weeks ago. It was pale blue, and I think it was called dead sea? 7th Heaven are a great face mask company thing if you don’t already! The one I used was made out of stuff from the dead sea, which I thought was quite interesting, and strange to have on my face. I’d type some of the ingredients but the packaging is in the bin… :/ Anyways, if you’re getting a face mask, I’d get one that peels off because the others can be a little difficult!

Once Upon A Time Season 5B

As you may know, OUAT returned for the second half of the fifth season on the 6th March. I was beyond excited, and needed my fill of OUAT desperately. Every episode gets better than the last and it’s getting very intense on my emotions – yes I have cried a lil bit on the last two episodes… It isn’t even anything really sad; I’m just emotionally connected to these characters! NOBODY UNDERSTANDS! RUMPLE 😥 Anyways, it has been awesome, and I can’t wait for more episodes!

And that is some of the things I have been loving in March! I’ll have my April look-ahead on Thursday, which I am very-much excited for!

Thank you SO much for reading! Make sure to like and follow if you like my blog and leave any thoughts or suggestions in the comments!

What have you been enjoying this March??

SEE YOU ON THURSDAY! 😀

FEBRUARY FAVOURITES

Hi,

I’m  Just Average Teen Me. As you’ll know, it’s that time of the month – hang on, I need to rephrase that. It’s the beginning of March, which means that February is finito, which also means that IT’S TIME TO WRITE A FAVOURITES POST! I’m not completely sure what I’ll be putting in here, but we’ll see as I go along 😀

1010 Block King

I got this game early in the month, and rarely stopped playing it the whole time. If you don’t know, it’s kind of like Tetris, but you don’t have to drop it to the bottom; the blocks can just float around. Also, there are a bunch of different modes to play in. Personally, my favourite is the ‘Stages’ mode, where you complete a bunch of levels (I’m on 50). The others are: Classic, Arcade and Time. If you’re someone that has to get on a bus to school, and it can take a good while sometimes, this is a great bus game! I warn you, though, it’s very addictive!

Beauty Blenders

I know, I’m super late to catch onto this craze. Just in case you aren’t sure on what beauty blenders are, then let me enlighten you: they’re basically weird shaped sponges that you use to blend your makeup, instead of a brush. In the week off school we had, I was out in the town centre, and I nipped into Primark with Bob (I had an awesome time out with him). While I was in there, my eyes were caught by the beauty stand, and although I’m not crazy about makeup or anything, all the brushes and blenders did kind of excite me. In the end, I wound up picking up a two-pack beauty blender set. One is lighter pink, and wobbly shaped like a peanut (Sorry; I’m useless at describing things) and the other is a darker pink and more egg shaped? But anyways, I’ve been loving how easy they work! And it was only £1.50!

Collection – Lasting Perfection Concealer

Along the lines of beauty, while I was out with Bob, I decided to venture into the realm of Superdrug, which was a first for me; previously, I’ve been more of a Boots kind of girl. I won’t lie, I found the layout of all the shades of makeup really satisfying but anyways, I bought the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer (in fair 1 if you’re interested). I’ve been using it for almost two weeks now, and dare I say, I LOVE IT! It stays on for longer than my old one, which may or may not be kind of ironic because that one was called ‘Stay time’. By the time I get home from school, I don’t look like a trainwreck yet so all is good. Although the tube is slightly smaller, the consistency is thicker and goes further with better coverage, so it will probably last me a similar length of time. For anyone interested, it was £4.19.

Lemon Muffins from Costa

Some of you might already know, but for those of you that don’t, I am a massive Costa-goer. Usually, I’ll go for a hot chocolate, but when I was out with Bob, I decided to get myself a lemon muffin and obviously a hot chocolate (I can’t just go to Costa and not get one). As a huge lemon cake fanatic, there was only a slim chance that I wouldn’t like it. Which probably would only have happened if there was something alive inside it or something. But there wasn’t anything alive in it. Lemony flour dust or something was dusted on the top, and on the inside, there was a lemony gooey thing that tasted amazing! It wasn’t too sour, as some things like that can be, but was strong enough for the aftertaste to last a whole day, which I am not complaining about!

Ridiculously Fluffy Pyjamas

For Christmas, my Grandma bought be some reaaallly fluffy pyjamas. Lately, the UK has been really cold at nights, or so I’ve been feeling, and my normal pyjamas just aren’t cutting it. So I resorted to these. In case you’re wondering, they’re from BHS. I tried to find a link to them on the website, but I can’t see them in the pyjama section… Sorry about that! 😦 But anyways, I sleep so much better in these and don’t wake up freezing! ❤

Listening to the tiny bits of songs that you can listen to on iTunes

Okay so I’m a strange person and listen to the short bits of songs that you can listen to on iTunes. I didn’t know you could actually do that until earlier in the month, and since then it’s kind of become a little thing I do when I have nothing else to do. As weird as it is, I don’t actually mind only having to listen to a bit of it. Although it does mean you need WiFi. Or your mobile data if you’re on a phone; I’m on my iPod. I have spent about an hour doing this before so if you’re anything like me it could become addictive. Just in case you don’t know how to, just go onto the album, click a song and it should start playing a preview! 😀

That’s quite a long post so I think I’ll end it here!

What have you been enjoying this month?

JANUARY FAVOURITES

Yes the capitals were necessary don’t question me

Hi,

I’m Just Average Teen Me. At the moment, I’m finishing my big Galaxy bar (currently eating the last piece) before the pain from my – awh it’s gone – braces really kicks in and I can’t eat anything other than eggs, porridge and yogurt. And my next appointment is in April and it isn’t even the last one and I thought it would be. How nice. And depressing.

BUT ONTO SOMETHING POSITIVE!

It’s time for my monthly favourites ❤

I absolutely love these posts, and I’m not completely sure why but I just DO

So, here are some of the things I have been loving this month.

Once Upon A Time Box Sets

I have seen all of the OUAT episodes out as of now, but I got the box sets for Christmas so I can watch them on my TV, and for about a week or two, all I did was sit and watch them. I did literally nothing. Probably the peak of minimal exercise and laziness, but who cares I loved it. All of the weekends, until late at night, before school in the morning and after school in the evening. Yeah, I’m past there now so I’m moving around again 😀

Geometry Dash – Meltdown

So, last time I played Geometry Dash, was probably about a year ago, and the last level was “Time Machine”. I am quite sure that I completed all of the levels, if not, then I only missed the last one. But I was on that all the time too (This favourites has become an addiction post 🙂 ) And when I was on the Play Store the other day, I saw that there was another game called “Geometry Dash – Meltdown”. It’s kind of a smaller version of the first Geometry Dash, but it’s still fun and I am currently 64%  through the last level. If you haven’t played Geometry Dash, then go for it, if you don’t mind having your life taken over 😉

THE TINY BIT OF SNOW THAT WE HAD

So, part way through January, we had some actual snow. There wasn’t much but at least it was something. And with the size of my family, it was all squished into the ground and muddy within 10-15 minutes of being outside which is always a bonus. Gotta love that gross slush stuff 😦 But while it lasted, it was really fun and exciting, because we haven’t had actual snow that we can go out and build snowmen in for a looooong while. Crossed fingers it will snow a little lot more this month?

Seventeen Stay Time Concealer

If you read my previous post, you’ll know that I have really nearly finished my concealer, and I’ll be needing a new one very soon. And since I have enjoyed it while it lasted, I thought it would be appropriate to throw it in here with my favourites! It lasted since the beginning of July, although I haven’t worn it everyday. But that’s quite a while! And I’m hoping the next brand I get will last just as long!

Vaseline

I’m not sure why I’ve chucked this in here; I guess I have been using it a lot. My lips have been really dry lately, and I thought I’d just use Vaseline, which I have bee doing for a while now. It’s kind of annoying in the wind, with my long hair and such, but it’s better than not using any and having sore lips. Although, it isn’t working amazingly well. So, if any of you have any suggestions for lip moisturizers/balms or anything like that (quite cheap please; I don’t like spending my money)  then make sure to let me know in the comments!

This Weird Pen

So, at an enrichment-sort-of day where we were talking to colleges and stuff in school, I was given a pen from one of the representatives. And at first I was like yeah okay it’s a pen. But after using it on my Religion homework, I literally fell in love with it. For some strange reason, it makes my writing look really even and nice (I get told I have nice writing anyways, but I don’t see it. The pen made me see it) and I was so happy. Sad, right? OH MY GOD THERE’S A MOTH ON MY DESK WHAT DO I DO? I’LL BLOW OH NO IT’S FLYING. Phew it’s a little higher now so I won’t get murdered. ANYWAYS, on the topic of that pen, get your tissues ready. I lost it. *claps* well done me. I think Ashley may have inherited it but I wont bring it up to save the awkwardness

And that my friends, is everything I can think of at the moment. And quick shoutout to Elm who did AMAZING on her mock exams *claps and cheers*

What have you been loving this January?

December Favourites

Hi,

I’m Just Average Teen Me. I know it’s kind of weird doing this post because December was kind of last year but I didn’t do in in December because of, well, blogmas, and New Year etc. So, now it’s time for my December Favourites (finally!)

Shower Lily

For Christmas, Penny bought me a shower set thing, called: The Pampery, Bath Time Take-away. Okay, I guess it was a bath set thing then. It came with a pink shower gel (which I have been using), a shimmer thing, actually, a shimmer body lotion (which I used once and looked like the queen of fairies or something so I probably shouldn’t use that again) and a shower lily/scrub thing. I haven’t used one of those before and now that I have used it, it’s so much better. I feel like it keeps your skin softer, and cleans it better than your hands would so YAY!

CHOCOLATE

Since it was Christmas month, I ate a LOT of chocolate! To be specific, 2 Galaxy Selection boxes (2 ripples, 4 smooth milk bars, 2 caramels, 2 minstrel bags, 2 counter bags and 2 bubbles), a Cadbury’s selection box (Curly Wurly, Chomp, Fudge and Dairy Milk), another Cadbury’s one (a crunchie, double decker (that actually I didn’t eat because it was disgusting), 2 dairy milks, buttons and fudge), a whole advent calendar (24 small pieces of  chocolate) and almost 2 boxes of lindt lindors….. I have been terrible… But I loved it all! Except the double decker…. I didn’t love that at all!

Stocking Slippers

So, my grandma bought me some stocking/slippers that I have been wearing literally everyday since Christmas. They go about 3/4 of the way up your calf, and are SO FLUFFY on the inside! But they don’t appear to have a tag or anything so I can’t link you to it! Sorry! 😦

Lucid Dreamer App

I have been using this app for a while, just for the journal part. Most of you will probably know I want to lucid dream, and to do that you should keep a dream journal. The problem is, I don’t have any spare notebooks around, and I’d rather not have several pieces of paper floating around. So recording them on my iPod is a much better idea! The app is just called Lucid Dreamer

The Christmas Candle

So, in my family, we have this amazing candle that we bought last year, and still had it this year. But we bought another too. It’s the ‘glade apple spice’ one. We got ours from B&M Bargains. The link is here if anyone wants a Christmas candle after Christmas! 😉

Enchanted Forest Colouring Book

My aunty got me one of the Johanna Basford books for Christmas, and I’ve done two of them. I did one on Christmas Eve and one the day before that. They’re really relaxing and surprisingly don’t make me frustrated at how long it takes 😀 And they look so pretty too! I really should do some more of some of them when I get the chance!

That’s everything! As you can see, there isn’t too much but hopefully January will be a little more interesting! I’m really sorry for not having a good thumbnail type thing, because I just really wanted to get this post up… It’s really late already!
